Copy of printed notice of death of Frau Dr. Henriette Meyer [Professor Meyer's mother] at Battaglia, 1905

Letter from Kuno Meyer, Venice to J. Sampson, 1905

From the letters of 1905 to Davies it is obvious that the library for Celtic students is extending successfully with a lot of help from Davies. K.M. gives Davies a lot of advice upon his appointment as an external examiner in Welsh as to type of question to set etc. K.M. discusses meetings with Captain Vaughan and the Captain's genealogical work

The death of his mother means that K.M. is in Italy from March until May.

Davies apparently makes very important finds in his study of metrics - K.M. very interested

In June K.M. tells Davies the great German philologist Prof. Osthoff is to learn Welsh and Irish, underlining the importance of Welsh in comparative philology

K.M.'s attempts in June to obtain money for Welsh studies at Liverpool University out of the Bowes bequest: comes to nothing - money goes to Spanish
