Biographical/Administrative Information:The Officers Training Corps was founded in 1919 and was attached to the King's Liverpool Regiment. From 1928 the corps had its own drill hall and rifle range. Following the outbreak of World War II, the OTC was enlarged and reorganised on a Faculty Basis as the Senior Training Corps. All non medical male students were required to train with either the STC, the University Air Squadron or the Naval Division. In 1955 the STC resumed as the OTC and has continued to operate under this name since then.
