Farrer, Hall Garth, Carnforth to [Professor Ramsay] Muir declining to receive the title to Associate Professor but expressing his willingness to accept the title of Reader in Local History and his wish to contribute £25 p.a. towards the post "Which I know Twemlow will fill admirably", 15 Jan. 1908. (The Vice-Chancellor has added a note on this letter: "see letter June 19, 1908, and Council resn.")
