Biographical/Administrative Information: | J L Paisley entered the University of Liverpool in Oct 1927 and graduated B.Eng Hons. in Civil Engineering Class I in Jul 1930. He was a Thomas Bartlett Scholar in the Faculty of Engineering during the sessions 1927-1930 and for these sessions also held a Borough of Southport Major Scholarship. In Nov 1934 he passed the examinations for the degree of BEng Hons, Civil Engineering. The subjects of the University examinations which Mr. Paisley sat were:- (a) Final B. Eng. Part I, June 1929 Strength of Materials Theory of Machines and Hydraulics Course [work] Civil Engineering I Civil Engineering II Design and Drawing Maths. (Higher) Pure and Applied (b) Hons. B. Eng. Civil Engineering, June 1930 Pure Maths. Higher Applied Maths. Higher Design and Drawing [course work] Strength of Materials Theory and Design of Structures Surveying and Geodesy Hydraulics and Hydraulic Machinery Railway, road and street construction Municipal Engineering etc. Mr. Paisley deposited these notebooks in response to the appeal in Convocation Annual Report 1986. |
