Biographical/Administrative Information:The husband of Mrs Oliver Mercer (nee Hiatt), BA 1929, Dip.Ed 1930, Mr George E Mercer, BA Hons History 1929 played in the University of Liverpool"s "Rugger" Club first XV for the three seasons during which he was an undergraduate 1926-1929; he was also in the first XI Cricket Team 1929-1930. Mr. Mercer was also the subject of a Gag upon the occasion of conferment of the B.A. degree on him on 6 July 1929 (copy of Programme of Gags in University Archives, ref.S82)
