"Written up" lecture notes taken by Harold Busfield while student in the Department of Chemistry. The lecture notes are in pen and ink, illlustrated with sketches etc. and are expanded versions of the notes taken at lectures.

The Lecture notes are in pen and ink, illustrated with sketches, etc. D356/6-10 make use of The University of Liverpool ruled notebooks sold by Philip, Son & Nephew, Ltd., University Booksellers, 3 Bedford St. N., Liverpool. There are loose notes [taken at the time the Lectures were given] in D356/4-9.

For a summary of the subjects covered by the individual Chemistry courses see the Faculty of Science: Prospectus of Courses (e.g. Session 1936-1937 pp. 40-48).

At the time Mr. Busfield was a student a division was made at the end of the Second Year into students taking Honours in Physical Chemistry and those taking Organic Chemistry. All students took the same lectures in Inorganic Chemistry, but Mr. Busfield has not retained these Inorganic Chemistry Lecture notes for the Third Year. Mr. Busfield does not have any Third Year Organic Chemistry notes as he took the Honours in Physical Chemistry course.
