Biographical/Administrative Information:

Mr Alan Benton Bowers studied at the University of Liverpool (BSc 1941, DipEd 1947). He became a member of staff in 1948 and was an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology before becoming a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marine Biology in 1964. He retired in 1986 and died in 1991.

Miss A. Mavis Dennis (later Mrs Bowers) studied at the University of Liverpool, beginning in 1944, and was awarded the BSc in 1947 and DipEd in 1948.
