Professor Veitch was invited by the University Council in January 1931 to write a history of the university in connection with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the foundation of University College.

Correspondence of Professor Veitch (and his secretary, Mrs Rideout) with C.F. Mott, Director of Education, Liverpool (regarding Queen's College, Liverpool), the Registrar (regarding the History and Canon Rendall's visit to Greenbank), and Mr Carlton Stitt (enclosing invitation and menu cards of banquet at the Town Hall on the opening of the First Established School of Architecture and Applied Arts in England 10 May 1895, 20 Jan. - 18 Nov. 1931

Typescript (carbon copy) Reminiscences of Dr W.S. Paget-Tomlinson, The Biggins, Kirkby Lonsdale, 22 Aug. 1931 (27 pp.) and covering letter of the Registrar. These reminiscences cover the period of his student days at the Liverpool School of Medicine 1866-1870

Lists of persons the Registrar suggested as having papers of value or who ought to be interviewed for the History.

Correspondence of Professor Veitch with G.H. Rendall inter alia informing the former of the latter's impending visit to Greenbank and his various University publications some of which he was sending to the University Library 10 March 1931 and 7 Jan. 1932, lists of publications received from Canon Rendall for the History 19 March and copy on index (made by Canon Rendall) to individual students, benefactors, and members of staff mentioned in University College Magazine and Sphinx (to Volume 6 inclusive), 17 March 1931, list of Questions for Dr Rendall and Professor Veitch's note on several persons connected with the early College and their influence.

Copy of notes by Professor Rushton Parker on the School of Medicine (of which he was a member of staff from 1872 onwards) 1872 - ca.1903, (13 and 30 Dec. 1930) and covering letter of the Dean of the Medical Faculty.

Copy of Professor Veitch's Notes for the Vice-Chancellor on the History of the University (up to 1881) subdivided into sections on the Origin of the Medical School, Liverpool Royal Institution, Queen's College, University of Cambridge Extension Lectures, the Liverpool Council of Education, university College and the State of the College when it opened.

Carey, Professor of Mathematics later of Pure Mathematics 1886 - 1923 about University College, Liverpool, 1 Jan. - 28 Jan. 1932. Subjects include Dr Sampson's anecdotes, friendship between staff and students, offer of principalship to Mr Augustus Warr on Glazebrook's resignation, social life of the College, College Societies, Teacher's Guild and places of residence of staff

Copy of verses composed by Mrs Carey and addressed to Professor Postgate (ca.1920) alluding to members of the College's staff.
