Biographical/Administrative Information: | W B Bickley was a researcher and historian of Birmingham. It was from him that Reade acquired a large series of papers relating to the Johnson and Ford families, which aided Reade in the completion of The Reades of Blackwood Hill. Bickley undertook a lot of research on the history of his local area, including a paper on the first steam mill and its engine. |
