Biographical/Administrative Information:The Planning Committee was originally established in March 1970, its terms of reference having been agreed by EMC, of which it was a sub-committee. The Planning Committee's purpose was to estimate the future income and expenditure of the School and to establish what funds would need to be procured from voluntary sources in years ahead. The Voluntary Funds Committee acted as its secretary. At its meeting on 2 July 1970 the committee agreed to make its final recommendation to EMC and was apparently disbanded from that point until it was reconstituted by a decision of Council on 19 June 1972 with the purpose of producing a plan, for submission to Council, for the development of the School over the next ten years, incorporating plans for individual departments and taking into account the School's financial and personnel resources. The Planning Committee's first meeting after being reconstituted was held on 24 July 1972.
