Wooden box containing 42 3?" x 3?" glass black and white lantern slides of individuals and groups of people, settlements, houses, aerial views, agricultural workers, [a doctor and patient], and a memorial; the slides, which are not all captioned, include views at Haifa, immigrants in Beersheba, Kurdistan family, individual citizens of individual countries (including English, American and Hungarian), settlements at Ashdoth Jacob (Jordan Valley), soldiers marching and in lorry, and a group [which includes Professor Simey]; also a slide of a coloured map of 'Hanegev' area to the west of Israel.

Also 2 cardboard boxes of 37 colour transparencies. ('Israel Negev' and 'Israel Jerusalem Emek Galilee') of views in the countryside and in urban areas, and of a few groups of people, n.d. [?mid 1960s]

Biographical/Administrative Information:In the Autumn Term 1952, Professor Simey was employed under the United Nations Technical Assistance Administration as a Consultant in Israel. It is thought that the glass photographic lantern slides date from this visit.
