The volume contains brief descriptions of over 500 images and appears to include references used by the Central Photographic Service. Dates are included intermittently and span from 1944 to 1969. Some of the descriptions relate to Wilfred Lee's family, but the majority describe photographs taken on behalf of the Central Photographic Service. The numbering does not appear to correspond with the references on the back of the photographs.

A short list entitled 'Grand National 1978' is included on the first page. A list of 'Colours for Healing' follows the lists of photographs, and the pages that follow these are blank.
