D36/A.92-A.96 - 'Clarke-Sheppard-Turner (later Gill) Genetic Collection of Butterflies' - 1982-1997
This collection was based on that made by Clarke and P.M. Sheppard from 1952. It initially included specimens of Papilio machaon, Papilio glaucus and Papilio dardanus but continued to expand to include other butterfly and moth species.

| Custodial History: | In 1986 J.R.G. Turner agreed to collaborate in the maintenance of the collection but he found it difficult to continue to do so and in 1994 Alison Gill took over. The collection was deposited in the British Museum (Natural History) in 1982. |
