Custodial History:Donated by Mr P.H. Cushing (Resident Lecturer for The Institute of Extension Studies) on behalf of the Southport University Extension Society on 23rd February 1972. With later donation made in 2009 by the Centre for Lifelong Learning /Continuing Education.
Biographical/Administrative Information:The Southport University Extension Society was founded in 1896 to provide extra-mural academic courses for ordinary people who were unable to go to university. It is now associated with the Department of Continuing Education at Liverpool University.
