Biographical/Administrative Information: | Previously called the Research Committee.
Terms of Reference (2009-2010) a) To be responsible to the Senate and the Council for the implementation of the Research and Knowledge Exchange key priorities of the University’s Strategic Plan and for this purpose to liaise with other relevant committees. b) To oversee the development and implementation of policies designed to promote research at international and world-leading standards across all disciplines in the University. c) To be proactive in identifying research areas or themes in which the University might develop capacity. d) To raise the profile of knowledge exchange as a core activity of the University and to develop and promote policies to enhance the University’s knowledge exchange activities. e) To develop and enhance the University’s policies relating to postgraduate research students in order to increase the numbers of such students, the quality of their student experience and the value of their contribution to the University’s research effort. f) To oversee the allocation of any centrally-held resource identified to promote research and knowledge exchange. g) To advise the Planning and Resources Committee on resourcing issues related to the resourcing of research and knowledge exchange.
Reporting relationship The Committee reports to Senate and Council and to the Planning and Resources Committee in relation to planning and resource allocation matters. |
