Biographical/Administrative Information:A Sub-Committee of the Academic Committee, the Academic Review Sub-Committee was created to oversee the course approval, monitoring and review procedures for all taught courses which lead to a University award and to report to the Senate, through the Academic Committee, on ways in which the procedures should be developed in support of the University's aims and objectives.To provide a focus for the University's relationship with the CVP Academic Audit Unit.To consider recommendations from the Boards of Faculties for the establishment of new courses and to make recommendations to the Academic Committee on the academic and resourcing issues involved.To consider reports from Boards of Faculties on the annual monitoring of courses and to take such action as may be required where problems have been identified.To appoint Review Panels for the periodic review of individual courses and to take such action on the reports of those Panels as may be required.To submit to the Academic Committee an annual report on its activities and to make such special reports as may from time to time be required for the maintenance of academic standards.
