Custodial History:Presented by Lord Simey, July 1968. Accessioned to Special Collections Manuscript Collections (MS.16). The order and titles were maintained when the records were transferred to the University Archive in 2019.
Biographical/Administrative Information:The Committee on the Civil Service was appointed by the Prime Minister on 8 February 1966 under the chairmanship of Lord Fulton (the committee is usually referred to as the Fulton Committee). Lord Simey was one of the Committee's twelve members. The Committee's task was to examine and make recommendations about the structure, recruitment, training and management of the Home Civil Service. The committee's report was published in 1968.
