| Summary: | At its meeting on 5 November 1957 (Minute 37) the Council received a note from the Vice-Chancellor (Report Book Vol. 37 p.76) on the Committee appointed by the Senate in October 1941 to examine the Statutes and Ordinances of the University and to prepare a revised draft for the consideration of Senate. The note mentions that the Committee's draft proposals were considered by a Joint Committee of Council and Senate (appointed in March 1945), which had not in fact met since 1946 although its members had been appointed. The Council resolved in consequence that the Committee on the Charter, Statutes and Ordinances be reconstituted as a Joint Committee of the Council and the Senate. |
