• /1 Poetry pamphlets and broadsheets, includes copies of Patten's early poetry pamphlet Underdog, some unpublished material and correspondence from contributors and a wide range of other pamphlets mainly dating from the 1960s and 1970s;
• /2 Book and cover proofs, including those for Little Johnny's Confession, The Elephant and Flower, Vanishing Trick, The Irrelevant Song and many of his later children's books;
• /3 Press reviews and cuttings, arranged chronologically in bundles;
• /4 Posters, for poetry readings and performances;
• /5 Papers removed from printed book series, many of these are letters from the authors of the books, these include Pete Morgan, Susan Musgrave and Patrick Hughes amongst others;
• /6 Publicity Material; for events, festivals and venues where Patten has performed, arranged in bundles by date;
• /7 Other printed material and ephemera, printed items relating to the work of other individuals, including Alexander Trocchi, Piero Heliczer, Heinz Henghes and Atilla the Stockbroker, also includes a bundle of handmade dinner invitations by Patrick Hughes and a print of Giverney 1986 by Susan Stone and Adrian Henri;
• /8 Foreign translations, various translations of Patten's works.
