A volume which has initially been used by Mr C Wentworth Elam (1890-1966) (DVH 1914, Demonstrator in Veterinary Pathology and Parasitology 1916-18 and part-time Lecturer in Animal Management 1920-55) to record the undated notes [he took at lectures] and later been used by him to paste over many of the pages of lecture notes with cuttings from the local and national newspapers and journals (on the subjects of dogs, horses, milk, and animal management, and on staff and students of the Liverpool Veterinary School), fliers for RSPCA lectures (to be given by Mr Elam, 1924), opening of the RSPCA's Hospital for Animals at Toxteth (1929), and the RSPCA's Liverpool Animals' Hospital (1929), also the MS. text of draft letters written by [Mr Elam] to the editors of local and national newspapers and journals.

Amongst the few loose items in the volume are a copy of the Report of the Council of the National Horse Association of Great Britain to the AGM of members, 10 April 1929, and a copy of a page from The Westmorland Gazette, 22 June 1929, reporting on Cancer Research in Westmorland...Disease in Domestic Animals...
