Biographical/Administrative Information:Port Erin Marine Laboratory: Marine and fisheries research began at Liverpool in 1887 and has been carried out on the Isle of Man since 1892. The extensive laboratories are sited close toa a wide variety of rich unpolluted habitats. Research and teaching concentrate on ecological and environmental topics and much research is funded by the Isle of Man Government.
