Copy of letter from the Board of Education to Messrs. Whitley & Co. 19 Feb. 1908 stating that the School of Architecture should be given the opportunity to purchase [the Bluecoat School buildings] by private treaty for £32,200, and the Vice-Chancellor's manuscript notes on his interview & discussion at the Board of Education on the financial terms, n.d. [c.1908]

Letters (and copies of letters) of Alsop, Stevens, Crooks & Co., and Whitley & Co., both solicitors of Liverpool between themselves and to the Vice-Chancellor on the above subject, 31 July 1909 - 28 July 1910.

Letters of Mr. W.H. Lever to the Vice-Chancellor, 20 March & 11 Aug. 1909 (in which Mr. Lever refers to the case several years ago of Birkenhead Corporation, the debts owed on the old library to the government and Mr. Carnegie's offer to provide a new library).
