Biographical/Administrative Information:The society was affiliated with other undergraduate societies, in 1905, under the newly constituted Guild of Undergraduates. Sphinx vol. 12 No. 4 (Feb 1905), p.71, remarks: why we have not had affiliation from the first rather surprises us, until we remember the petty, paltry and yet, taken all together, powerful intrigues that went on against the Guild in the days before its establishment.Medical Student's Society is referred to as M.S.S in the finding aid. It was originally known as the Liverpool Royal Infirmary School of Medicine Debating Society (1874-1885), then as University College Medical School Debating Society (1985-1894), then Liverpool University Medical School Debating Society (1902-1937) and latterly as the Medical Student's Society
