Summary: | At its meeting on 19 Sept. 1964 the Development Committee, having received a joint report on the Leahurst Development Plan (Report Book Vol 49 p. 104), agreed that a site development scheme, with costs, which would meet the needs of building projects over the next ten years, be prepared. Following upon the grant by the British Egg Marketing Board of £50,000 for building developments for work on poultry diseases, the Development Committee at its meeting on 12 Dec. 1964 appointed a Building Sub-Committee for developments at the Field Station. The New buildings at Leahurst (including a main research and teaching building, and an experimental farm) were formally opened in 1971 on which occasion an illustrated brochure was published. |
