S186 - S187 - Men's Hall of Residence Building Sub-Committee - 1950 - 1965
The Development Committee at its meeting on 23 Sept. 1950 appointed a Hostel Building Committee; the Committee was entitled the Men's Hall of Residence Building Committee in the Minutes of 4 July 1955 onwards.
The Council decided in 1959 that this Hall should be named "Rathbone Hall".

| Summary: | The Development Committee at its meeting on 23 Sept. 1950 appointed a Hostel Building Committee; the Committee was entitled the Men's Hall of Residence Building Committee in the Minutes of 4 July 1955 onwards. The Council decided in 1959 that this Hall should be named "Rathbone Hall". The main and dining blocks of the Hall were completed and handed over for occupation by September 1959. The Secondary Block was later handed over in stages by Jan. 1960. The Annexe was handed over in August 1961. |
