The General Committee at its meeting on 2 April 1881 conferred upon the Council all its powers until the College was incorporated.

Pasted into this volume are an Extract from the Medical School Council's Minutes 3 May 1881 regarding the School's working together with University College, a few newspaper cuttings [from local newspapers] re the College May - August 1881, copy of printed letter of E. Lawrence, Chairman of University College's Council to the Mayor of Liverpool, 9 August 1881 suggesting that the Corporation should purchase the Asylum buildings and grounds on Brownlow Hill and let them to the College on a 75 year lease at a nominal rent, copy of printed Petition of Lord Derby and others praying for the grant of a Charter of Incorporation to University College and a draft of the Charter prayed for [July] 1881, Report of Subcommittees to confer with the Committee of the Ladies Educational Association and to confer with delegates of the Medical School upon the division of fees paid for courses of lectures in Chemistry [c.Dec 1881].
