Biographical/Administrative Information:

Mr David D.E. Rodgers graduated BA 1st Class Honours in Geography in 1928, MA (in Geography) in 1933, and obtained the Diploma in Education in 1934. He died in 2004, aged 94 years. His wife, Mrs. Lilian M. Rodgers (neƩ Turton), also graduated BA Honours in Geography, in 1932, and obtained the Diploma in Education in 1933; she died in 1990. The University's Sydney Jones Library holds a copy of Mrs. Rodgers' B.A. thesis (`The Isle of Man, A Regional Study'), reference Thesis 1194A.

As noted in the University's Annual Reports, Mr Rodgers acted as Tutor in the Department of Geography in Session 1931-32 and also gave help in connection with the Industrial Survey of Merseyside (see D926/4) and also the Social Survey of Merseyside; and in Session 1932-33 Mr Rodgers gave further assistance in the work of the Social Survey of Merseyside.
