Separated Material:The University of Liverpool Arts and Heritage Collections museum holds Glazed oak shield on which 13 silver and 3 silver gilt(?) medals are displayed. These medals were awarded to Mr. Rigby, 1904, and sessions 1904-05, 1905-06 and 1906-07. These medals were awarded by the New Veterinary Medical College, Edinburgh (3), the Edinburgh Veterinary Medical Society (2), and the University of Liverpool Veterinary School (11). The reference number is No. 2875-2890.

Biographical/Administrative Information:J R Rigby, student at the New Veterinary College, Edinburgh later at the University of Liverpool's Veterinary School until 1907, MRCVS 1907. In October 1904 a new University School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery was opened as part of The University of Liverpool. The New Veterinary College, based in Edinburgh since 1873, was then moved along with it's Principle, W. Owen Williams, and some students to join the newly established school at Liverpool. Mr J.R. Rigby was one of the students who re-located.
