Biographical/Administrative Information:

Enid Porter entered the University of Liverpool Oct 1917 and graduated BA Hons English Literature in 1921, she studied Greek, Latin, French, Medieval History and Poetry. 1917-1921 she held a Wallasey borough Scholarship. 1921-1922 she passed the BA Hons part II in Greek. She then taught for a year at Penistone Grammar School. In 1924 she returned and was awarded the William Noble fellowship and graduated MA English Literature in 1926. Lady President of Guild 1921/2.

In March 1929 Miss Porter married a fellow graduate of the University of Liverpool, Mr. Douglas Hamer, M.C. (B.A. 1922, M.A. 1924). Mrs. Hamer died on 20th April, 1986.
