Biographical/Administrative Information:Flight Lieutenant Henry ('Harry') T. Forrest (1922-2000) entered the University in September 1940, to study for a B.Sc. degree. In July 1941 he joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve while a member of the University Air Squadron and trained as a pilot at the British Flying Training School at the Riddle - McKay Aero College, Clewiston, Florida, USA, July 1941 - July 1942. Following further training in the UK, Sergeant later Pilot Officer Forrest piloted a number of aircraft on sorties against the enemy in Germany and France, being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944. He was later involved in the training of pilots and left the RAF at the end of the War with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He then opened a radio and T.V. shop at Long Lane, Garston, Liverpool.
