Biographical/Administrative Information:

The annual Panto Day began 10 Feb 1905 when students marched in procession to see the pantomime at the Shakespeare Theatre, Fraser Street, Liverpool and continued on a yearly basis with a fundraising, a procession through town, visit to the Theatre and a specialĀ Panto Sphinx

The establishment of the Guild of Undergraduates was mentioned in Clause 14 of the University Charter: "there shall be one or more Guild or Guilds of Undergraduates" and it was set up in 1905 (the name being taken from the University of Birmingham). It was decided to have only one Guild which would be a merger of the former Men's and Women's Student Representative Councils and it was to have a male and female president and elected council. In 1965 the positions of male and female President gave way to a President and Deputy President. Latterly the Guild of Undergraduate has become the Guild of Students.
