Penguin request biographical information and a photograph for their forthcoming edition of Three to Conquer; Allen Lane thanks EFR for sending signed copies of EFR's Three to Conquer, With a Strange Device, Somewhere A Voice, for his library of Penguin publications; the Cover Editor thanks EFR for the short autobiography for the half-title page of the Penguin edition of the novel With a Strange Device [a photocopy of this, as the half-title page of Somewhere A Voice, is also enclosed]; Oliver Caldecott, Fiction Editor, informs EFR that Penguin will be publishing Somewhere A Voice and invites EFR to make any alterations to the Dobson edition as necessary, and also encloses a booklet about Penguin's house rules for "typographic discipline”; Laurence Pollinger Ltd forward a letter from Kaye Webb, Editor of Penguin's Puffin Books division, writes that she was impressed by EFR's novelette Somewhere A Voice and suggests that EFR would make an exciting children's writer and invites him to contribute a story for the Puffin Annual; Kaye Webb thanks EFR for sending her three of his stories [not named] which had been popular with children when they were originally published, but she has to turn them down because they are too long; a courtesy copy of a request for permission form Max Hueber Verlag to republish EFR's short story Sole Solution in an English language reader for students, part of a series called Huebers fremdsprachliche Texte - a typescript note from EFR adds "Permission granted”.
