Biographical/Administrative Information:Fred Shaw (c.1867-1950) was Honorary Treasurer of the Gypsy Lore Society 1922-1930. He was born a Londoner but was of Nottinghamshire farmer origin and it was no doubt his love of the country derived from his ancestors that brought him into contact with Gypsies. He was an enthusiastic and expert photographer and on his death his photographs and Gypsy library were presented to the Gypsy Lore Society by his widow Helen.
