Related Material:The University's Sydney Jones Library holds a microfilm copy of his Ph.D. thesis on The King's Master Masons 1245-1515 and also his book Canonic design in English mediaeval architecture, the origins and nature of systematic architectural design in England, 1215-1515 (Liverpool U.P., 1961)
Biographical/Administrative Information:Dr Morgan, BArch 1947, PhD 1958. From 1948 until his retirement in 1980 he was a member of staff of the School of Architecture, initially as Lecturer, later Senior Lecturer in Architecture, d. 1992E. Weisner (featured on the photograph of the School's staff, D620/3/6) was Ernst Weisner, a Czechoslovakian Jew, who was a part-time lecturer in the School. A pioneer of the Modern Movement, he also practised in Liverpool, his work including the design of St.Nicholas' Primary School, Brownlow Hill, and a shop in Lord Street which has been since demolished.
