Biographical/Administrative Information:Thomas Lodwick Miller OBE, MInstCE, MIMechE, MIEE (1860-19?). T L Miller of Liverpool, the son of Thomas Miller of W C Miller and Sons, shipbuilders, of Liverpool and grandson of Edward McKeverigan of Clayton and McKeverigan, shipbuilders, of Birkenhead. T L Miller was senior partner of the firm of T L Miller, Wilson and Pegg, consultant engineers of Liverpool, Manchester and Belfast. He became lecturer in Engineering at University College, Liverpool in Jul 1888 but resigned this post in 1890 to devote the whole of his time to consulting work. He advised many local authorities on electric lighting matters, designed electricity supply works and acted as a consultant engineer. He was a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of electrical Engineers (past Chairman of Manchester section), a past President of the Liverpool Engineering Society and the author of a number of papers on engineering subjects. Mr Miller was general manager and secretary of the Liverpool Munitions Board of Management during the first World War and for these services he was appointed an OBE.
