Physical Description:1 cloth bound case containing leather bound testimonial and book cover
Summary:

Addressed to Dr. G. H. Rendall on his resignation of the Principalship and signed by the Presidents of the Students' Representative Councils on behalf of the students of University College.

Around the borders of the testimonial (which is glazed) are water colour medallions of the heads of women depicting Philosophy, etc. and scrollwork, by R. Anning Bell who probably wrote the testimonial.

An account of the presentation of both these testimonials to Dr. Rendall on 6 May 1898 is given in The Sphinx Vol. V No. 7 May 1898 pp.247-9 which also publishes the text of the testimonials

Also a book cover (made of rayon, lined with silk) embroidered on the front with the coat of arms and motto of University College and on the back with the initials (GHR) of Dr. Rendall. This book cover clearly does not belong to any of the above volumes; there appears to be no record of when or by whom it was presented to Dr. Rendall.
