Biographical/Administrative Information: | Professor F.T.H. Fletcher (1898-1977) was successively Senior Lecturer in French, 1936-46, and James Barrow Professor of French, 1946-65, when he retired. The entry for Professor Fletcher in Who Was Who, 1971-1980 inter alia notes that he was President of the Association of University Teachers, 1951-52; Secretary-General of the International Association of University Professors and Lecturers, 1952-61; and Chairman of the Association of University Professors of French, 1963-65. The entry also records his previous academic posts, his principal publications, etc. |
