Biographical/Administrative Information:

Professor Percy George Hamnall Boswell, Professor of Geology 1917-1930; General Secretary of the British Association 1931-1935 and Treasurer of the same 1935-1943.

Professor Boswell was born and educated at Ipswich, and later studied at the Royal College of Science and the Royal School of Mines. Herdman Professor of Geology at the University of Liverpool 1917-30.

Professor Boswell was Professor of Geology at the Imperial College of Science and Technology and head of the Department of Geology, Oil Technology, and Mining Geology 1930-38. He was General Secretary of the British Association 1931-35 and Treasurer of the same 1935-43
